A cooking show. At the kitchen island, Chef smiles at the camera as they prepare a plate with all the dishes they’ve made:

Hi there.
I am chef. You can tell I’m chef because I’m fun and can crack jokes while I easily carve this chicken.
Do you find this enjoyable? Millions do. And as we enter the holidays, millions more will.
I know you don’t tune in for me. You don’t tune in for the food either. You tune in to tune out.
I distract you. No societal statements or metaphors. Everything means what it means:
This chicken is a chicken. This brussel sprout is a brussel sprout. This garlic aioli is garlic aioli.
And even if you don’t like it, it’s only temporary. Food comes in, food comes out, and sometime soon enough, you will be hungry again. Start over, try again, maybe something new.
Most of life is not so digestible. We get full, and stay full, and rarely get relief.
Thank goodness there’s one way.
